EE today announced plans to offer Sony’s new Xperia XZ Premium when it launches in the UK in the late Spring. Sony’s pioneering new flagship smartphone will showcase 4K HDR video, and only EE customers will be able to get the most out of the record-breaking new smartphone’s download capabilities. EE will offer the Xperia XZ Premium as well as the Xperia XA1, both with WiFi Calling and 4G Calling when they become available later this year.

Xperia XZ Premium’s fastest speeds only on the EE network

The Xperia XZ Premium comes packed with a host of features which, when paired with the EE network, will allow users to make the very most out of the smartphone. These include a new, state-of-the-art Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform with a powerful 64-bit capable octa-core CPU and 4x4 MIMO. The processor will allow Xperia XZ Premium users to be amongst the first to benefit from EE introducing state of the art network technology that will support the 1Gbps download speeds that the handset is capable of – making it ideal for streaming 4K HDR video content.

For the first time on mobile, you can enjoy a selection of 4K content from Amazon Prime Video on Xperia XZ Premium. Stream or download select Amazon Originals series1 to watch whenever and wherever you want, with intensely vivid colours and breath-taking clarity.

Advanced video and camera functionality

As well as superfast speeds, the XZ Premium features the world’s first Super slow motion video in a smartphone2 capable of recording in 960 frames per second to enable Super slow motion video playback that is four times slower than other smartphones, enabling users to pause and capture the moment in incredible detail. The handset offers 4K video capture with its new 19MP Motion Eye camera which also provides sharp images with exceptional detail and clarity together with its best in class 13MP front camera.

The Xperia XZ Premium also features a 5.5” 4K HDR display – perfect for viewing anything from feature-length films to short-form online video clips – as well as a 3230 mAh battery with Stamina mode to give you a reliable all day battery.

EE will offer the Xperia XZ Premium across a number of 4GEE plans. Customers who take the handset on one of EE’s 4GEE Max plans will receive access to the UK’s fastest 4G speeds, largest data packages and inclusive access to the BT Sport app for the duration of the plan. What’s more, customers can use their plan’s call, text and data allowances to ‘roam like home’ when abroad in the EU.

Sharon Meadows, Director of Devices, EE, said: “EE’s network is primed for the Xperia XZ Premium, with the most capacity as well as the fastest upload and download speeds. Only on EE will users be able to unlock the full potential of the latest Sony flagship smartphone.”
