THE VANITY FAIR EE RISING STAR PARTY SEES STARS KICK OFF COUNTDOWN TO THE EE BRITISH ACADEMY FILM AWARDS

A star-studded guest list including Maya Jama, Anne Marie and Luke Evans celebrated the 15th year of the EE Rising Star Award at Decimo, The Standard

London, Thursday 23rd January 2020: Last night, talent from the film, theatre, fashion and music worlds came together to celebrate the 2020 EE Rising Star Award nominees at the Vanity Fair EE Rising Star Party. The star-studded event took place at the latest celebrity hotspot, The Standard in Kings Cross, where guests soaked up the glitz and the glamour of the awards season in style.

Stars in attendance celebrating the 15th anniversary of the prestigious EE Rising Star award, included: Maya Jama, Anne Marie, Luke Evans, Ella Eyre and Emma Louise Connolly and Oliver Proudlock, Connor Swindells, Clara Amfo and Hope Ikpoku were also spotted rubbing shoulders with 2020 nominees; Jack Lowden who is known for his standout turns in Dunkirk, Mary Queen of Scots and most recently Fighting With My Family, Kaitlyn Dever who has been praised for her lead role in Booksmart and received critical acclaim for her performance in Unbelievable and Micheal Ward whose roles in Top Boy and Blue Story have made him a household name in 2020.

The EE Rising Star Award recognises emerging actors or actresses who have each shown exceptional talent on the big screen over the past year and have captured the imagination of both the public and film industry alike. This year’s nominees are Awkwafina (The Farewell), Jack Lowden (Fighting With My Family), Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart), Kelvin Harrison Jr (Waves) and Micheal Ward (Blue Story). This is the only award voted for by the UK public and will be announced at the EE British Academy Film Awards on Sunday 2nd February 2020. Voting is live at ee.co.uk/BAFTA.

Throughout the evening, guests danced to DJ sets from Arielle Free, DJ Henri and Yinka Bokinni, while sipping on drinks created in partnership with Champagne Taittinger, Villa Maria, CîROC, Casamigos, Sassy Cidre and S. Pellegrino.

Audi were also on hand to ensure that guests arrived at The Standard London, in style.

The team at The Standard also created bespoke cocktails in honour of each 2020 EE Rising Star nominee, including:

A live photo-shoot took place throughout the evening for Vanity Fair’s renowned Portrait Studio. The images were captured for the second consecutive year by photographer Zoe McConnell.

To discover who will win the EE Rising Star Award for 2020, tune in to the EE British Academy Film Awards on Sunday 2nd February. The ceremony will take place at Royal Albert Hall and be hosted by Graham Norton. It will also be broadcast exclusively on BBC One and BBC One HD. The ceremony is also broadcast in all major territories around the world.
