EE kick-starts wholesale activity with two new MVNO partners since the launch of company brand
London - EE, the UK's most advanced digital communications company, today announced that it has signed two more MVNOs to its network - Talk Home Mobile and White Mobile. The new customers underline EE's position as the UK 'partner of choice' for MVNOs, with the best network in the UK and a range of flexible solutions allowing for launch in a matter of weeks.
These are the first new partners to be announced since EE launched on 31st October this year, offering the UK's only superfast mobile 4G network and Superfast Fibre broadband.
EE provides its MVNO customers with access to the UK’s largest 2G and 3G network, and aims to introduce superfast 4G capability for its first wholesale partners in 2013. EE is investing £1.5 billion over three years on upgrading and enhancing its existing 2G and 3G network, to further enhance coverage. It offers its MVNO customers a fully HSPA+ enabled 3G network, and will have rolled out DC-HSPA+ to 40% of the population by the end of 2012.
Jason Bellman, Director of MVNO & National M2M at EE, said:
"There are some hugely innovative MVNO propositions coming to market from mass and niche brands across a number of segments, indicating renewed confidence in our economy. The strategic move by the UK's largest calling card brands is a great example of this. EE has a broad wholesale offering, ranging from M2M to Bulk SMS and MVNO, and this division remains a key strategic focus.
"Our ambition is to provide 4G to a number of partners by the end of 2013, and we feel this will open up a world of opportunities for both existing and new partners alike."
The largest calling card company targeting the ethnic market in the UK, Talk Home has introduced a unique SIM-based proposition alongside its calling card options.
Traditional calling card customers will be able to purchase bundles of minutes at calling card rates, on a familiar Talk Home Mobile branded re-usable SIM - providing an all in one solution for customers wanting to use their mobile phones locally and internationally.
Talk Home is the second MVNO brand to be launched by the Nowtel Group of companies following the successful launch of Now Mobile in 2010.
Jayesh Pindolia, Talk Home said: "We are very proud of our Talk Home brand, which has built a sizeable and loyal customer base within the calling card market by offering a simple and consistent pricing structure.
"The new brand will be instantly recognizable to both new and existing customers, providing us with a hugely exciting opportunity to grow our market share rapidly. We are really excited about the launch of Talk Home with EE, providing our customers with access to the best network in the UK."
White Mobile launched at the beginning of November as the sister brand of one of the most successful ethnic international calling cards in the UK. It offers extremely competitive rates targeting the UK's Ethnic population with a value for money International and National PAYG mobile calling proposition.
The product will be distributed in the UK by FNT Logistics Ltd who currently distribute the White International Calling Card. White Mobile contracted directly with EE and achieved launch to market within seven weeks using the Transatel MVNE platform.
Graeme Hutchinson, co-founder of White Mobile, said: "We're delighted to be working with EE to offer White Mobile customers superb network quality and reliability, coupled with exceptional value UK and international calls and texts. Our aim is to inspire UK consumers with fresh belief in the value of straight forward pay as you go services and having a network like EE behind us will be key to this."
