EE OFFERS FREE DATA FOR ALL AS ENGLAND PREPARES TO FACE ARGENTINA IN BID TO BRING IT HOME
As England gears up to face Argentina tonight, EE, the lead partner of the Home Nations Football Associations, is helping fans stay connected by zero-rating data across its UK mobile network all day today (Wednesday 15th July) – making it easier than ever to support the team, wherever you are.
All day on Wednesday 15th July, EE Pay Monthly, PAYG and SME customers*, will enjoy free data throughout the UK to stay connected during the match – whether streaming the game, messaging friends, checking the latest scores or celebrating every goal online.
As England's journey in the tournament continues, millions of supporters are expected to tune in from homes, pubs, fan parks and on the move, driving another major spike in mobile data usage after EE customers generated an all-time record peak in traffic during England’s knockout match against DR Congo, which was 42% higher than normal.
By zero-rating data across its mobile network, EE is ensuring fans can stay connected to the moments that bring people together, wherever they are.
The initiative follows the launch of EE’s Yes Boys campaign, which shines a light on the growing impact of negative online influences on young boys, and the vital role football plays in building confidence, resilience and positive role models for the next generation. The campaign also forms part of EE's ongoing commitment to supporting young people’s wellbeing.
Kelly Engstrom, Brand and Marketing Communications Director at EE said: "As proud lead partner of the Home Nations Football Associations, we know the power football has in bringing people together and creating positive moments that inspire the next generation. Through our Yes Boys campaign, we are supporting young people both on and off the pitch – and by offering free data all day, we are helping our customers get closer to the game and the moments that matter most. Whether watching at home, in the pub or following every moment on the move, our customers can count on the UK’s best network to stay connected and get behind England."
EE will offer free data for its customers in the UK all day on Wednesday 15th July. If customers have already used up their monthly data allowance, they'll still be able to access mobile data at no additional charge throughout the free data period, ensuring they don't miss a moment of the game.
*Free data is available on Wednesday 15th July to all EE Pay Monthly, PAYG and SME consumer customers, not including business plans.
